- Chemistry is a branch of science that studies the analysis, synthesis and change of atoms, molecules and compounds that make up the structure of matter. Almost everything we use in our daily life is the product of chemistry.
- Our students, who graduated as chemists at the end of their 4-year education, have the opportunity to find jobs in the fields of medicine, textile, defense industry, food and environment, as well as working as researchers in R&D institutions.
- Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Faculty of Science, Department of Chemistry received its first students in the 1994-1995 academic year and as of June 2024, it provides education and training services with its academic staff consisting of 14 Professors, 7 Associate Professors, 2 Research Asisstant Doctors and 2 Research Assistants.
- There are 17 laboratories in our department, one of which is for students and 16 of which is for research.
- Our aim is to ensure that students who choose this department at the end of the 4-year academic year receive a modern chemistry education and to provide a scientific infrastructure that can contribute to contemporary chemistry science as researchers and to the chemical industry of our country as chemists.
